The Magellan 8100
scanner and Magellan 8100 scanner/scale are the entry
level models of PSC’s Magellan line for large volume,
point-of-sale applications. Whether your operators are seating or standing,
the Magellan 8100 provide them more comfort thanks to PSC's
patented 360-degree scan pattern. They also help reduce
shrinkage by using the patented All-Weighs™ platter.
With FirstStrike™, PSC’s advanced decoding software, you
can correctly scan torn, damaged, or poorly printed bar
codes. FirstStrike can also correctly and automatically
determine all supported symbologies.
Versatility By
Design
The Magellan 8100 comes with a powered auxiliary port
that allow you to connect a handheld scanner for bulky
items that can't be brought up to the desk. This port
also allows you to access the Flash memory in order to
update the scanner’s software. The Magellan 8100
supports the latest electronic article surveillance (EAS)
systems, including Interlock, for combined scanning and
security tag deactivation.
The
Magellan 8100 features host diagnostic reporting
software which reports the scanners health to its host.
This feature could save you valuable time by warning
management of potential problems before they actually
happen.
Easy POS Integration
Enjoy years
of worry free operation with easy installation. The
Magellan 8100 has the same familiar form factor as the
Magellan SL so it installs easily into both new and
existing point-of-sale configurations. It also supports
industry standard host terminal interfaces, including
RS232, IBM 46XX, and IBM USB. In addition, the Magellan
8100 is compatible with OPOS and JavaPOS systems
allowing for even greater integration flexibility at the
point-of-sale.
